This all started back at Guilford College at WQFS, 90.9 FM (the college radio station) in 2002. Originally called “J. Scott’s World of the Unexplained,” the show was just pre-recorded interviews with different authors and researchers in the paranormal interviewed by then college student, J. Scott.
Following J.’s graduation from college, and later law school, a new idea had taken root. Podcasts and “internet radio” were just getting started and J. believed that the show could make a comeback but LIVE with real callers able to call in and speak to the guests themselves.
J. knew just the person he wanted sitting beside him when doing these interviews and called up long time friend and fellow paranormal enthusiast, Trent Lackey. Together, a new show was born: World of the Unexplained, or what the initiated like to refer to it as: WOTU.
Over the course of the prevailing months, J. and Trent called upon one of J.’s old college buddies, Chuck Browder, to come in and run the sound along with their high school friend, Dee Clements.
After a good run from 2006 to 2009, life got in the way and the band kind of broke up. In 2014, the guys got back together briefly and gave it the old college try. This didn’t last long but there were a few good shows along the way.
In 2022, J. started looking through the archives and decided to upload them to a YouTube channel to see if anyone was still interested in the older recordings. Needless to say, the initial interest caught everyone by surprise and now the guys have decided to give it another go. However, this time the show will be a video show. Stay tuned and check back often for the first video podcast episode of the new and improved WOTU.
